Hikes

We met Katy and James for a hike up to the Royal Arches at Chataqua this morning. It was nice and overcast (although a little humid) and both the mommies and the boys got in a good work-out and had a great time. Alec and James are both at adorable ages right now, and were cracking Katy and I up with their silly beahvior, giggles and jokes on the way down. Our only problem is that Alec would much prefer to hike himself than be carried in the backpack, so there is a bit of fussing along the way, but the minute he is out and free he is thrilled.

Entertaining eachother

Alec and his 100% confidence in his ability to hike on his own

This is at the top - right after we put the boys back in their packs - can you tell how happy they are?

Doing some hiking/climbing of their own
How cute are they?

Alec thought putting fist fulls of dirt onto his pants was quite amusing - James wasn't so sure.

Love this one too

More Camping

We took Alec on his 2nd camping trip this weekend, and of course he loved it. We actually stayed for 2 nights, and Alec did really well. He still didn't sleep great, but there was not hours of screaming in the middle of the night, so we were happy. Michela and Denae, Paula and Kailee, and Troy and Misty all joined us. It was a blast to be there with more people, and Alec loved the attention of the girls. Here are some photo highlights. As you can see, we have a little mountain man on our hands. The sight of him running and jumping with delight the minute we let him out of the car at the campsight might make the whole trip worthwhile - he's definitely in his element.

Loving on Misty

Bubbles

Troy actually taught Alec how to blow the bubbles himself - with only limited drinking of the of the bubbles themselves.

Waiting for the train - it was his first ride - he sat in the cab and said "choo-choo" the whole ride.

Some pics of Alec playing with his new sand and water table at Grammy's house.....he actually spent 2 straight hours playing at the table, more time than he has ever spent with one activity in his life.

Sprinkler heaven
Alec and Reid - we were hanging out outside after dinner and the sprinklers surprised us - the boys loved it, and both had to ride home naked b/c they were soaked.
