Valentine's Day, Open Houses and Company

We have had an action packed month!  The boys loved celebrating Valentine's Day and both had lots of fun preparing treats and participating in their respective Valentine's Day festivities.  Charlie's class put on a little performance, which was an absolute riot.  I laid out a nice outfit for Charlie to wear and we talked the night before about looking handsome for his show, and you better believe he strutted into my room that morning with a track warm-up suit on that he wouldn't take it off.  He also had a nice big black eye from falling off the bed the weekend before, so he was looking all kinds of awesome for his show!  His performance completely mirrored his outfit; for about half the time he sat lounged back in his chair, with both his hands in his pockets, and an "I'm way too cool," for this nonsense look on his face.  Matt and I both laughed out loud several times throughout the show b/c he was absolutely hilarious!

We also hosted an open house this last weekend and had my family in to visit!  Abby, Mom, Bub, Ava and Owen flew in and helped us pull the whole thing off.  It was an insane week, mixed with sick kids and freezing weather, but we still had a great, and very big, party that we couldn't ever have done without all their help.  Here are a bunch of pics from the past few weeks.
Josh won a cake at Alec's school fun fair - awesome!
 Alec's school Valentine's Day party
The Valentine surprise Alec set up for Charlie - is was so funny and included things like one sock, an old pair of Alec's underwear, some rocks, a pack of pop tarts.....and on and on
Charlie loved baby Owen again this trip
Alec and Ava were sharing a room and we found Alec in bed with her after we had put them to sleep more than one - they adore each other

January

Hard to believe, but January came and went.  Despite the freezing cold weather, we managed to stay busy!  Here's a picture update from our month.
How Joshie does donuts, a Saturday morning tradition:)
A bronco party at our house, with a very sad outcome
The boys love the snow and play in it every.single.day.  I am counting down the days until I am done with winter gear already
 Sleepover with Hayden
Josh is 100% asleep in this picture, I always wondered how kids fell asleep while eating, and then I watched it happen
This dump truck from Bub has been the highlight of the month - it is also a perfect ride on snow plow
Visiting Alec at school during their heart study program - this is Charlie touching an actual cow heart
Grandma Susan and Papa Gene came for a visit over Matt's birthday and the boys thoroughly enjoyed their company.
We even made it up to Michigan to show them them the cabin
Here's to a warmer February, which given the new 15 inches of snow in our yard seems a little unlikely:)
