Videos

Just a few cute videos of the boys. I finally caught a bit of Charlie's guttural laugh on video. We are off to CO on Friday for a 10 day ski vacation with the Wolfes. Should be a crazy ski trip with 4 adults and 5 kiddos. We are super excited to really get Alec on the slopes though - he and Logan are gonna do full day ski school all week, so hopefully he will be an old pro by the time we are finished. Charlie turns 11 months (sob) while we are there, I think has been in another state for at least half of his monthly birthdays this first year, so I will do his monthly update when we get back. Hope everyone is staying warm, oh wait, it's only here in IL where the average temp every day is 20 degrees:)

Who Needs

...a lawnmower, when you have a snow blower? (and no, we didn't take the plunge and buy one, it's the neighbors.)

Who needs the stairs, when you have your brother's step stool?

Who needs a puppy, when you have a 10 month old?

Who needs a cookbook, when you have a big brother?

**On an unrelated note, Alec has said a couple of hilarious things in the last few days. This weekend he was asking permission to do something and Matt said yes. Instead of accepting Matt's answer, he came and asked me. When we asked him why he did that, he told us very seriously that it was because I was the boss of Alec and Daddy was the boss of Brody:)
Then tonight at dinner he told us that scientists say that you have to try salad at least 12 times before you can say whether or not you like it - ha, thanks preschool:)

South Bend and Sickness

Hi there! We have had a rough week and a half at the Sungy house. Between the stomach flu, the regular flu, and a concussion (Alec fell out of bed onto his head the night after he spent the day on the couch with the stomach flu), we have been pretty much down and out for the last 10 days. However, we did manage to squeeze in a road trip to South Bend with the Wolfe clan last weekend to celebrate Matt and Julie's bdays. Julie and I found a random groupon a few months ago for a lodge in South Bend and we decided what the hell....it's a good place b/w Chicago and Cleveland and none of us had been to Notre Dame. Ended up being a great place for the kids, there was a heated pool and a hot tub, the rooms had kitchens so we were able to cook, there was a great sports bar area where we could watch the games and the kids could play, and it was minutes from the campus. Jason's cousin coaches crew at ND so she was able to get us free tixs to the bball game on Sat, so we also got to take all the kids to the ND/Connecticut game. It was a super fun weekend, and definitely a place we would like to go back to, especially me, who spent the majority of the trip miserable and in bed:( Here are a few random pics that I mustered the strength to take, and, I am thrilled to report that it appears we are all finally feeling better.

Proudly sporting their bronco gear

Watching the football games on Sat. The bar ended up being full of Broncos fans, which was fun....until about 10 minutes into the first quarter:)

Sporting their matching sweaters for the lovely 11 degree day today

One of Charlie's new favorite things to do, crawl around with his tongue out

and heading for the stairs...this is his reaction to me getting frustrated with him for wanting to climb up them yet again

10 Months

Our little baby has hit double digits! Much to Mommy and Daddy's dismay, sweet little Charlie is 10 months old. He is the happiest, sweetest little man and we absolutely adore him. Matt and I laugh almost every night about his different antics and about how crazy about him we are. He traveled to CO like a champ and continues to be very easy going and good natured. He loves to be held and carried around, and will sometimes protest very loudly if someone doesn't pick him up, but he isn't at all particular about who it is that grabs him. He is very comfortable with strangers and basically just wants to be involved with what is going on. He does have an incredible sense for trouble and is always spilling, knocking over or breaking something, and he is very determined so our attempts to keep him out of harms way fail most of the time. He eats like a complete maniac (literally more than Alec at almost every meal,) he grew 3 teeth in Colorado and a new obsession with climbing stairs, he is a terrific sleeper, he still makes hilarious guttural screeches, squeals and moans all the time, and he still loves to wave at whoever he sees. Happy 10 months little man!

Christmas Whirlwind

We had a great and action packed trip to Colorado for the holidays. The boys and I were there for 2 1/2 weeks and Matt for 10 days. We were super busy, saw a bunch of people, and did a ton stuff. It wasn't the most relaxing vacation, with all of the running around we did, but it was still a great time and we loved catching up with all our friends and family. Alec definitely was much more into Santa and all of the fun of Christmas this year and we loved getting to experience everything with him. We certainly feel like we had a wonderful 2011 and have so much to be thankful for. Thanks everyone for a great trip. Here's a photo tour of our trip.

We took Alec ice skating for the first time with Abby in Belmar. It was really cold, and balancing on skates was a little tricky for Alec, but he loved it nonetheless
