Crazy Boys

Katy, Tim and James had Alec and I over for dinner and some play time this week. As always, James and Alec were in heaven running around like little maniacs together, fighting over toys, and taking part in some good old fashion body painting.

They started with painting on the paper, but then James got the idea to put some paint in Alec's hair.

Alec thought it was hilarious and then started painting his own hair.

Then they moved on to his belly button.

James' belly button got a little paint too

Serioulsy - look at these two

and they ended the night with some themed basketball. James loves hats and was trying to get Alec to wear one all night - he succeed in the end.

Meeting Baby Quinn

Some pics of Alec meeting his new cousin Quinn. He was very sweet with her and interested in checking her out. He did pet her like a puppy a few times, but it was his attempt to be sweet. We're so excited you are here Quinn.

More Chicago

We got back from another week long stay with Matt in Chicago yesterday. We weren't nearly busy this time, as we weren't looking for houses, but we managed to stay busy and find some fun stuff to do during the days while Matt was at work. We also got to go back and check out the house, which was fun! Here are some pics of our week.

Watching the Monday night bronco debacle.

Throwing rocks and pine cones in the lake by Matt's apartment.

One of Alec's new favorite things to do it pose for pics and then look at them on the camera. He is endlessly fascinated with seeing himself on the camera screen. This is during one of those games.

On Sat we met up with Mark, Christie and Hayden at an Arboretum near Matt's work. It was a beautiful fall day and the boys had a great time playing together.

Beep Beep

Alec had a fantastic time celebrating his 3rd (I can hardly believe it's been 3 already) Halloween. He really started to understand what it was all about this year, and he loved all of it. We started out the weekend w/ a dress-up play date with his good buddies Riley, James and Audrina. Our attempts at getting a pic of all of them in costume was futile, but here are some cute ones of them trick-or-treating after they were done playing in the gym.

Alec playing in the gym - his under bus outfit left him looking like a little ninja.

Matt was able to come home for the weekend and partake in all of the Halloween festivities. We waited until Sat to carve pumpkins so Daddy could join.

Finished product

Taking a break from Halloween related activities to show off his Strider skills to dad.

Officially wearing the yellow bus. We were a little skeptical about how the whole costume bit would go. Alec was really excited about looking at the bus and putting it on for 1-2 minutes at a time, but we really didn't know if he would actually wear it trick-or-treating. He was a champ though - about 2 minutes before heading out the door he came running into the kitchen saying "my costume" and he was all about it. He put it on and paraded up and down our street honking his horn and smiling. He actually had two strangers ask if they could take his picture b/c he looked so cute all dressed up.

On the move

Brody also sported his Halloween jacket.
Could he look any happier

Directing us to the "next house."

He was a little shy when he actually got to peoples' doors, but he did manage to whisper trick-or-treat and thank-you at almost every house.

After hitting up about 8 houses Alec was ready to head back home - dad ended up with the bus.

What Alec enjoyed even more than actually trick-or-treating was answering the door. He would leap up every time the doorbell rang and he LOVED handing out candy with his dad. He was also very sweet with all the trick-or-treaters, chatting with them and wishing them all a "happy Halloween" before they left. All in all, it was a wonderful weekend and it was great to watch Alec have so much fun. I told Matt that I think Halloween might just have been the best day of Alec's life thus far.
