4th of July
Alec had a wonderful 4th of July. His Grammy bought him a pair of festive swim trunks last week and I think he had them on every day this week. What can I say, he is a patriotic guy! We started out the holiday week with a visit from Uncle Jason. He flew in on Tuesday night and by the time he left on Wed afternoon we had played 7 games of Settlers. Yes, we are just a little obsessed. Alec loved seeing him though and had a great time showing him around his turf. The only other times they've met have been in Ohio, so Alec liked having Jason in his domain. Then on the 3rd we had a little party at our house for the firework show in our neighborhood. Alec got to stay up for the fireworks and he loved them. He would say "boom," or "up" whenever they went off and on a few occasions he tried to chase them down in the park. Then on the 4th we went down to the lake and Alec got to ride on Uncle Nate's boat and do some swimming. It was overcast when we got there, and they didn't have the boat in the water yet, but that would not deter Alec. He went right up to Nate, pointed at the lake, and said "wawa, wawa" and did not stop until we got on the boat - which he loved!! Then he had a sleepover at Grammy's so that mom and dad could go to a wedding. All in all, it was a very fun weekend and we imagine that it will take our little man a few days to unwind from all the excitement and late night partying!!
