The beach
Here are just a few of the pics I took of Alec at the beach on Tybee Island. It was easily the happiest day of his little life. He ran up and down the beach screaming in delight, and was completely fascinated with the fact that he could run anywhere his little heart desired. It kills me that I didn't have my video camera, but I was able to capture some of his joy with the camera.
Savannah
Alec and I just got back from Savannah yesterday. We were there for about a week, and had a wonderful time! I was really nervous about traveling by myself w/ him (we flew out on our own, but had Abby w/ us on the way back) and it ended up being no trouble at all. I was super lucky to get an empty seat on 3 of the 4 flights - note to anyone flying w/ a lap child, always ask if they can give you an empty seat, and Alec did great. He definitely didn't want to sit still, but with the room he was free to climb around all he wanted and he did manage to sleep a little on most of the flights. Alec loved his second trip to Savannah and getting to visit w/ his grandpa and Retta. Some of the higlights included playing basketball in the yard - he LOVED chasing the ball around, carrying it, passing it, and then pointing at the basket when he wanted people to shoot. He also loved touching and kissing all of the various animal sculptures and statues that my dad and Loretta have around the house, grabbing my dad's moustache and watching him scream about it, and discovering a new found love for Captain Crunch cereal. We also took him up to Tybee Island one day and let him run around on the beach - it was hands down the most happy and excited I have ever seen Alec in his life. I have so many pics of it that I will have to put them in a seperate post. As alaways, the trip was terrific and we were sad to leave, especially to come back to 20 degrees and snow!! Thanks Grandpa and Retta for a great visit!

Stock Show
Alec went to his first stock show this year (and mom and dad did too!) We thought it would be fun to take him down to see all the animals. He had a great time, but the animals were second on the list. He was much more interested in all of the construction equipment that was on display. It was actually like a little Alec truck heaven. We even got a ride over to the front door in a tractor cart, which is big business when you are 16 months old.
