Labor Day

We had a great long weekend - my cousin Zach got married, and so my dad and Loretta were in town for the festivities. The rehearsal dinner was on Sat at Maggianos, and then the wedding on Sunday - the reception was at the DCPA, and was easily one of the nicest and most spectacular venues I have ever seen for a wedding. The room has giant windows that overlook all of downtown and the mountains, and at sunset it was incredible. Plus - Jackie and Zach couldn't have looked any happier!!! Alec missed out on the wedding festivities b/c they were past his bedtime, but the 14 month old ring bearer who was in the wedding was adorable, and got us really excited for Alec's wedding debut in February at Nate and Renae's wedding! Alec did have fun at the pool on labor day and over at my aunt's on Monday night. Plus, he is finally getting over his first real cold - he had a terrible runny nose and diarrhea for almost a week, so we are excited to be moving past that. Here are some pics from the weekend.

Doing laundry with dad.

Alec Updates

News on the Alec front - my mom and step dad Ross just moved in b/c they sold their house and are waiting for their new one to be built. It is fairly crazy w/ 4 adults, 3 dogs and a baby, but things are going well and Alec loves beating up on Miles - their golden retriever. Luckily for him, Miles will lay completely still and take all the beatings that Alec can dish out. We are working hard on petting the doggy gently, but we are definitely not there yet. Here are some cute pics of the 2 of them.

Also - we just got back from visiting our good friends Julie and Jason and their 3 little ones in Michigan. It was a great, relaxing vacation. We kayaked, jet skied and enjoyed a few different boat trips. Alec had a nice time, although he was insanely clingy with his father while we were there and just a bit out of sorts. It looks like he is on the verge of getting his 4 upper teeth, although they still aren't here, and we think the new environment and large number of people may have been a bit much for him. Regardless, it was a great trip. However - we have resigned from taking him on any more plane rides for awhile - the days of stress free baby travel are long gone. Here are some pics from the trip.

AND - Alec started walking about 2 1/2 weeks ago. It is hilarious - he looks like a little drunk Frankenstein. Crawling is still his preferred method of mobility, but he is taking more steps on his own every day. I'll post a video of it when I can.
